Book Review - His Word...Discovery Book One in the Trusted Saga by Carol Delmornay

Samantha has a past she is trying to hide from, and has been doing a good job of it until now.

Her friends take her to a club owned by wealthy Levi Webber. When Sammi catches the rich playboy's attention, she doesn't realize how deep he will dig to learn more about her.

Even worse, what he will find.

This book captured my attention with the intent of the interactions between Levi and Sammi. His relentless, Type-A personality fits the character. Her aloof mystique provides a strong antithesis,

My only gripe is that while I knew this was Book 1 of a series, it ended very abruptly. I expected a To Be Continued, or teaser for Book 2. At first, I wondered if it was the end, or of my file was corrupted.

I want Book 2 now.

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.

Book Review - The White Shadow by Vrajesh Dave

This review made me sad to write. I don’t like giving reviews that I must rate very low, but I am committed to honesty in my reviews. Therefore, I will continue.

This book was difficult for me to read. Though I read for pleasure, I also cannot shut my internal editor off. This book nearly gave my internal editor a meltdown
.
The book is poorly edited, if it was even edited at all. There are many sentence fragments in this book. There are numerous redundancies as well. I am guessing that English is not this author’s first language, as evidenced by the rampant use of incorrect words for the sentences, and improper sentence structure. I think this could have been made better if a native-English speaking editor were employed.

There are some sentences in the book that help paint vibrant mental pictures. Unfortunately, it gets lost in the garbled English that comprises the entire story.

I unhappily rate this book one star.

Book Review - The Whispering House by Marci Baun

I pride myself on loving all things creepy, and macabre. Even so, I was unprepared for the level of spookiness in “The Whispering House.” I started reading it before bed, and less than a chapter in, I already knew I would be having nightmares.

What I thought was going to be a straight-up horror story quickly delved into the realms of fantasy, and science fiction. Marci Baun transitioned from what appeared to be a haunting into something quite different with expertly written flow.

Eleanor’s grappling with her own sanity, coupled with her attraction to both handsome sheriff Rodney Tyler, and enigmatic neighbor Michael Stevens provides a healthy friction to the storyline. The resolution was not one that I expected.

Do yourself a favor and read this book. Just be careful about reading it before bed… Especially if you live in a creaky old house, like I do.

I give this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars.
